Happy Early Halloween Y’all! I was asked to create a project for Riley Blake Designs using one of their new novelty lines. Of course, I had to pick their superhero dogs!
I was asked again to participate in a blog hop sponsored by Riley Blake Designs. This time we’re blogging along with Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet’s Let’s Bake Sew Along! If you aren’t sewing along there is plenty of time to get in on the fun! (It just started last week..yay!) Here’s a link to her sew along so you can see what she is up to, Beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com.
In her sew along she uses templates and various methods of sewing to create a very fun sampler quilt. Today we’re going to use some of those templates and methods to create 3 alternative projects so you can keep the fun going!
Hey Everyone! It’s time for another blog tour and this one is super fun! I get to show you some of Trick or Treat by Carta Bella for Penny Rose Fabrics.
If you’ve followed me for awhile you know I usually, well actually pretty exclusively, only make quilts for blog tours, but I thought I’d switch it up this time. Who doesn’t like a good Halloween wallhanging? For this project you’ll need the following –
- Dresden ruler
- Rotary Ruler
- Rotary Mat
- Cotton Batting
- Fusible Batting or Fleece
- Googly Eyes
- Black Pipe Cleaners
- Letters ‘E,K,!” Printed on 8 1/2″ x 11″ Paper
- Fabric – See below for requirements…note: you will have extra fabric..probably enough to make two.
- Also note – the Orange fabric used in this project is Riley Blake Cotton Shade Basics in Tangerine and the black is Riley Blake Confetti Cottons Basics in Black.
What do you say? Ready to get started?
I get the pleasure of speaking with the Johnson County Quilt Guild on the 27th. I am working on a fun precut demonstration for them, but just had to share with everyone! Here’s a new and fun take on a disappearing 9-patch using 3.5″ squares.
The line is an older one by Riley Blake Designs called A Beautiful Thing by Zoe Pearn. I don’t think you can get it anymore, but I think we can all agree it’s simply adorable!
Anywho, I hope you enjoy!
Until next time, Happy Quilting!
We are so happy to introduce our next project, Quilting from ‘square’ one! This four week sew-a-long is for beginners, yep beginners. If you know someone or are someone who has expressed interest in learning to quilt but doesn’t know where to begin this sew-a-long is for you!
Here are all of the details –
Happy first Sunday of the 2016 NFL Season! While many of us enjoy watching football with our friends, hubs, etc. sometimes it is nice to retreat to the studio on Sunday for some ‘me’ time. Today I am working on finishing up my next blog post, but in the meantime here is one I’ve been meaning to share with y’all for some time.
A colleague’s wife commissioned a baby quilt for one of her best friends. The timing wasn’t great as I was still in the middle of that nasty hail storm remodel and my studio was in complete shambles. So, naturally I said “Yes of course I’ll make you a quilt.” (It’s what we all do, right?)
The nursery colors are teal and coral which is a pretty tough combination I discovered, but luckily Woodland Springs by Designs by Dani for Riley Blake came through and worked perfectly.
I’m currently working on moving content from Not My Grandmas Quilts over to the studio. Don’t worry I’ll let you know when we’re 100% up and running. In the mean time subscribe to the right and that way you’ll always be in the know.
Take care & I appreciate your patience in this transition,
